How Do I Register For Medicare ?
The individuals need to click on the words Sign Up in the Secure Sign In section. This section is displayed on the upper left-hand side of the Welcome to MyMedicare.gov page.
Alternatively, one can also click on the Sign Up link that appears in the Registration Information section on the bottom left-hand side of the same page. This will open the Registration page.Once the page is opened, one must fill out all of the required fields on the registration page for a secure access to their Medicare information. After filling the information, click the “Continue” button to submit your registration request.
However, for special beneficiaries like Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) Beneficiaries, the registration procedure is a follows:
The individual will need to click on the register here hyperlink next to the words "Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) Beneficiaries". This will guide the beneficiaries to a registration page specially designed for them.
However, registration request can fail if the information provided by the individual differs from the information Medicare website has on file from the Social Security Administration (SSA) or RRB. If this has happened due to change in information, then it must be updates with the SSA or RRB first, in order to be able to successfully register with MyMedicare.gov.
After the registration request has been successfully processed, one can see a confirmation page stating that the password will be mailed through the US Postal Mail, to the address that is on the record with the SSA or RRB. If the email address has been provided during registration process, an email containing your password pattern, will be sent to your email, as well.
