Discrimination Against Same Sex Marriages



Discrimination comes naturally and easily to human mind, which is conditioned to demarcate and differentiate. When people believe in certain things and have formed an opinion about it, they tend to discriminate on such issues. Gay marriage is one such example.

Marriage to most people is a relationship between two opposite sexes who completely understand and love with each other and that they expect to grow and learn out of their relationship. So, people find it repulsive when same sex people want to get married. They show their anger and disagreement by shouting slogans against gay marriages and condemn homosexuality. Some angry protesters even go to funerals of gay people, just to make sure that their resentment and hard feelings evident even in the gay person’s death. It is a very sad and unfortunate situation for gays but they have no way to stop it.

Gay marriages are far from being accepted by the heterosexual population. Today, gays are discriminated just for their sexual orientation. There are unfortunate incidents when they are beaten up or even killed because of their sexuality. Citing reasons like hurting religious feelings, many people shun gays and gay marriages. They debate that homosexuality is a sin and that people who practice it would go to hell. It is strange to think why one should be so concerned if some other person goes to Hell instead of Heaven after their death.

It is a common occurrence for a gay marriage not to get proper recognition and gays being denied their civil rights. In many countries, gay marriages are considered illegal. Considering the love for humanity, such discrimination against same sex marriages should be stopped.
